Climate Change
Recent Reports and Studies
The United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel and Climate Change (PDF) issued a report on recommended strategies to mitigate the impacts of climate change in April. (2007) The Stern Review in the United Kingdom issued a report, The Economics of Climate Change (PDF). This study examines the evidence on the economic impacts of climate change itself, and explores the economics of stabilizing greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. It also considers the complex policy challenges involved in managing the transition to a low-carbon economy and in ensuring that societies can adapt to the consequences of climate change that can no longer be avoided. This report provides estimates of the costs to mitigate the impacts of climate change, as well as estimated costs for the failure to do so. (2006) |
